You left us all without a word,
still dreaming in your sleep.
The next day when I woke and heard,
I tried hard not to weep.
The thought was just too much for me,
that you were gone for good.
I tried to think, "well now you're free,"
and did all that I could.
That song you never heard me play,
I played it just for you.
Those tears that I held back all day,
they all poured out for you.
But never did you ask from me,
"I want you to do this."
I never took the time to see,
how much of you I'd miss.
I realize now how much I do,
and what you wanted, too.
So now to make your wish come true,
I write this just for you.
